Instead of hiring from multiple sources to complete your project, you only need hire from one place. As challenges arise (no construction project is completed without a hiccup) we can work together to find a reasonable solution without pointing fingers at another firm in the chain. We’re all in this together, from start to finish.
In traditional design-bid construction methods, you as the hiring person must select an architect/designer, have a bidding party for contractors, select your contractor(s) and then you’ll still have to act as a middleman for every aspect of the project. The design-build methodology works as a cohesive team. You, along with the design-build firm work in concert every step of the way. This teamwork fostering method ensures open lines of communication and everyone knowing what the other is doing.
With bids coming in from multiple streams, traditional construction fees can soar significantly above what the project should actually cost. Because the total cost of a design-build project are settled during the planning phase, you’ll know what the cost will be and may even get some of your money back if the project comes in under budget. You may also wish to use the overage to improve upon the initial scope of the project.
Just like having a cracked foundation, construction projects often let a few things fall through. Having one firm involved in all aspects of the project prevents or mitigates this naturally occurring phenomena.
Environmental Systems Design has licensed architects with formal architectural education as well as extensive experience in the construction arts. However, ESD decided to take it one step further. The very same seasoned architect that designs your project will also be the one building your project, all the way to the final touches and the ever important handshake when the job is done.
ESD thinks about one thing, other than the quality of our design-builds: client value. The benefits of working hand in hand with the designer (who is also the builder) are innumerable. Imagine taking your car to the mechanic, only to find out the guy working on your car is also the engineer who designed it. Being able to communicate with the designer and builder at all times helps to promote the overall of the project. You get the information you need from the person who knows most about all aspects of your project.
Imagine working without having to bother with any middlemen. Scheduling of the project can begin long before the design is completed and the design-build firm already has the assets needed to work on your project immediately.
Involving just one company to handle all of your construction needs means only one set of rules to follow. You don’t have to worry about one company saying one thing while another does something else. Our first rule is to create the project the way the client wants it, not the way different foremen think should happen. One vision, one goal, one outcome.
With no intermediaries and no finger-pointing going on between firms means that there is but one head honcho. Because the designer and builder are one in the same, the focus of the project remains aimed at the client, not multiple independent firms.
Architects and construction contractors are a dime a dozen. Do you really want to hire multiple firms to handle your project who have little to no investment in their community? Do you want to hire a design-build firm that cares deeply about its clients? Do you want to be able to sit down and coffee with your design-build manager and just be able to shoot the breeze? Wouldn’t it be nice if you actually knew the person on a personal level?
Environmental Systems Design is that kind of company. We are personally vested in our community and devoted to the clients we serve. We may not be the biggest design-build firm in Colorado, but we can assure you, we are the answer to you’ve been looking for.
